The community of Dalrymple are celebrating the completion of work at their new community garden thanks to grants from funders including WREN, Ayrshire Leader, EB Scotland and SUEZ Communities Trust.
The garden has been a number of years in development, however with the hard work and dedication of a group of local volunteers, supported by Central Scotland Green Network Trust (CSGNT), it has finally become a reality.
Thanks to funding from the Scottish Government and the Greggs Foundation, plus support from Central Scotland Green Network Trust and local councils, over 7.5 hectares of land has now been enhanced for the benefit of pollinating insects and other wildlife through the second phase of the John Muir Pollinator Way project.
The Falkirk area is officially the best place for a walk in the UK after it picked up a national award for the ‘best walking neighbourhood’ at a prestigious ceremony held in the Houses of Parliament.
A public vote organised by charity Ramblers saw the work of Falkirk Council and its partners in helping to develop and maintain its path network stretching 383 miles locally rewarded with the country’s top accolade for walking.
