Plains Community Futures, North Lanarkshire Council and Central Scotland Green Network Trust (CSGNT) are working together to create a new public open space in Plains, North Lanarkshire.
The formal football pitch and surrounding land offers opportunities for a range of landscape uses such as tree planting, habitat management and footpath improvements and if approved would offer a valuable asset for local residents and schools.

Construction of a new bike pump track at Craigneuk will begin by the end of this month and provide the area with one of the best facilities of its kind in the UK.
Main contractor Green Cat will work on the project with two of the world’s premier pump track designers and builders, Velosolutions and Architrail, with construction expected to last around eight weeks.
The Cart and Kittoch Valleys Woodland Management Plan 2017-22 updates previous management proposals for the woodland areas under Glasgow City Council ownership.
Aims include improving the woodland condition, managing the woodland to improve biodiversity, and promoting public use and awareness of the Cart and Kittoch Valley Woods.
