A new canal section forming the eastern gateway to Scotland’s historic Forth & Clyde Canal was given a royal seal of approval today (Wednesday 5th July) as it was officially named in honour of Her Majesty The Queen.

Forty-eight community projects in Scotland have been awarded £40,000 funding in total from the Central Scotland Green Network (CSGN) Community Project Fund to improve their local greenspace.

The £40,000 Community Project Fund – supported by £30,000 funding from the Greggs Foundation and £10,000 from Central Scotland Green Network Trust (CSGNT) – is providing one-off grants of up to £1,000 to support small-scale greenspace initiatives and to foster community engagement in maintaining and enhancing the local environment.
