Richard is Planning and Environment Manager at Falkirk Council. As a chartered town and country planner he has experience in local government spanning 26 years. He has a BSC (Hons) degree in Environmental Science from Stirling University and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from Heriot Watt University.
His current role manages a team with both strategic functions in local planning policy and environmental initiatives, and operational functions for land, open space and parks development, including cemeteries and crematorium.
Richard is a long term supporter of CSGNT and their predecessor CSFT, which with Falkirk Council won the overall winner award in the Scottish Awards for Quality in Planning (2012) for the “Falkirk Greenspace Initiative”.
He is a Director, and previous Chair, of Falkirk Environment Trust. Richard also sits on the CSGNT Delivery Committee. A married father of three, he enjoys; family time, music, walking his labrador and fly-fishing.
